Asbestos Consultant / Surveyor / Analyst

Due to continued growth, we are now in a position to appoint Asbestos Consultants, Asbestos Surveyors and Asbestos Analysts to join our Mansfield office to help us deliver contracts across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in a variety of sectors.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out the full range of asbestos consultancy services to include all types of survey, supervision of removal contractors and associated clearance work, preparation, and technical review of reports.
  • Undertake Asbestos surveys on all building types: Domestic, Commercial, and Industrial.
  • Complete Statutory re-inspections.
  • Perform Airborne fibre monitoring, fibre counting, and clearance works of all types.
  • Undertake high level consultancy, client advice on managing asbestos in estates and properties.
  • Maintain and acquire additional skills sets on the asbestos skills matrix.
  • Ensure that all asbestos work is undertaken in accordance with company procedures and relevant external regulation and guidance.
  • Compile detailed Asbestos removal specifications.
  • Conduct pricing visits with Asbestos removal contractors and competently respond to any questions / queries raised.
  • Conduct pricing visits for surveying and analytical works to include the formulation of a detailed quotation.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients, ensuring accurate up to date knowledge of all current Asbestos, and Health and safety regulations.
  • Complete report checks in accordance with client KPI’s and to the required standard.
  • Participate in internal and external (RICE) counting programs.
  • To be alert to business opportunities and promote the services of the group.
  • Attend training courses as and when required by the business.
  • Assist with the production of RAMS.
  • To carry out any other duties required as part of the overall strategy to achieve the company’s objectives.
  • Help to train and nurture Trainee Consultants to ensure the company ethos is maintained.
  • Assist and cooperate with inspectors during annual UKAS visit.
  • Be available to undertake works OOH or over weekend periods when demand requires.
  • Assist with the completion of Asbestos work tenders / frameworks
  • Ensure that any non-conformities identified during audits, are used to improve and develop existing skills.


Person Specification:

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (A Levels, Degree or equivalent would be an advantage)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy
  • Surveyors – BOHS P402 (or RSPH equivalent qualifications)
  • Analysts – BOHS P403 & BOHS P404 (or RSPH equivalent qualifications)
  • An understanding of Health and Safety procedures
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and first rate customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate and proficient use of Microsoft Office software package
  • Good standard of literacy for writing technical reports
  • Ability to work within the team and under own initiative
  • A flexible approach to working hours as evening and weekend work may be required
  • Full driving licence
  • Be willing to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure (cost will be met by the company)

Trainee Asbestos Consultant

Due to continued growth, we are now in a position to appoint a Trainee Asbestos Consultant to join our Mansfield office to help us deliver contracts across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in a variety of sectors.


Roles and Responsibilities:

The role will initially involve shadowing a team of experienced asbestos surveyors and analysts. Should the candidate show good aptitude and enthusiasm for the role, they will be given an opportunity to undertake nationally recognised qualifications to become an Asbestos Analyst/Surveyor.


Person Specification:

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (A Levels, Degree or equivalent would be an advantage)
  • An understanding of Health and Safety procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and first rate customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate and proficient use of Microsoft Office software package
  • Good standard of literacy for writing technical reports
  • Ability to work within the team and under own initiative
  • A commitment to study in order to understand the legislative and quality requirements to pass a written exam, as well as being able to develop skills needed to pass practical exams
  • A flexible approach to working hours as evening and weekend work may be required
  • Full driving licence
  • Be willing to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure (cost will be met by the company)
